Following a successful driving license test at a Health center, my husband and I need to apply for a Spanish driving license (to exchange our UK license for the Spanish one). Does anybody know where exactly (probably in Torrevieja) we need to go and what is the procedure. Can we do it alone, or we need a solicitor? Thank you
You need to make an appointment with the DGT, either online at Elche or Alicante, or by phoning 060 (you will need a translator or wait a long time).
You complete the exchange form and ensure your appointment is within 3 months of the medical test.

It is quite difficult to get an appointment at the moment as they claim they are very busy. You can either keep trying or contact one of the companies that do this for you. They seem to get appointments quickly. I don't know who does it in Torrevieja (beware solicitors who will charge a stupid amount) but we have several in Quesada who do it, OneWay Services and The Expat Centre for just two so I'm sure there must be some in Torrevieja as well.
